Central San Diego

Bay Park

A small, quiet neighborhood tucked along Mission Bay between Clairemont and Old Town, prized for water views and quick access to the bay's trails, marinas, and paths. A mix of older bungalows and newer builds, popular with buyers who want a central location and water proximity without a coastal price tag.

North Park

San Diego's trendiest central neighborhood, known for its craft breweries, restaurant scene, and mix of restored Craftsman bungalows and new infill construction. Popular with younger buyers and investors drawn to the walkability, nightlife, and steady appreciation in a historically undervalued area.

Mission Hills

An upscale, historic hillside neighborhood just north of downtown and Old Town, known for canyon and bay views, tree-canopied streets, and some of the city's oldest and most architecturally significant homes. Draws buyers who want in-town sophistication and walkability to downtown without leaving a residential feel.

Clairemont

A well-established, centrally located neighborhood popular with families and first-time buyers. Mid-century homes on larger lots than you'll find downtown, canyon and bay views in pockets, and easy access to I-5/I-805, Mission Bay, and the beaches. More attainable price point than the coastal luxury tier, with a steady wave of remodels and flips raising values.

Kensington

One of San Diego's classic, historic neighborhoods — tree-lined streets, 1910s–1930s Spanish and Craftsman homes, and a small walkable village strip with a landmark theater and local cafes. Strong sense of community and character; appeals to buyers who want charm and walkability over new construction.

Normal Heights

A laid-back but increasingly upscale surf town made up of distinct pockets — Old Encinitas, Leucadia, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, and New Encinitas/Olivenhain further inland. Known for its surf culture (Swami's, Moonlight Beach), the flower-growing heritage still visible in the Ecke Ranch fields, and a walkable downtown along Highway 101. Attracts buyers who want beach-town character with a bit more land and a more casual, artsy feel than Del Mar or La Jolla.
